Molly Conley

Background Information: I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and attended college at University of Dayton where I received my Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Before I worked for the District I spent 16 years in the engineering consulting industry performing civil engineering design for local consulting firms. What do you like most about your job? I love using my experience as a civil engineer to protect and improve the environment. Having two offices: one with a desk and one with green grass and sunshine! Moving into the Director position has been a wonderful experience in providing a guiding light to the staff creating a vision for the future. What is a Director?: I work to keep the wheels turning! I try to facilitate and inspire a passion for the environment that the staff can channel into their work. We brainstorm, partner, create, educate and assist the residents of Warren County with all their water, soil and general environmental needs. Favorite spot in Warren County: Caesar Creek State Park and Little Miami River. What are you doing when you are not at work? When we I am not taking my kids to swim team practice, you can find me camping, hiking and kayaking with my three kids and husband Todd. You might just catch us floating down the river or on one of the many lakes in the County in the near future! Dawn Stiles

Background information: I was born in Warren County, raised in Louisiana then moved back to Waynesville. I have been working for the Soil and Water Conservation District since 2008. Previously, I spent 8 years at a sand and gravel company in Dayton as the Office Manager and took some time off to stay at home with my kids. What is an Administrative Assistant?: My position with the SWCD is different than most of the other jobs in the office. I work directly for the Board of Supervisors and handle office work as directed by them and the Director. Most of my time is spent doing accounting, finance, reporting, and working on various projects. I also coordinate planning for the Tree Sale in the spring and the Annual Meeting and Election in the summer. What do you like most about your job: The Tree Sale!! Most frequently asked question: How do I get on the newsletter mailing list? Favorite spot in Warren County: Our family woods, river or any fishing hole around Warren County. Background information: I am a Warren County native and have been working with Warren County Soil and Water for over 20 years. In that time, I have seen many changes to the County and spent time working in both the agriculture and urban sector. What is a Natural Resource Conservationist? I assist Warren County residents with natural resource concerns pertaining to, but not limited to, drainage, soil erosion, stream management, subdivision erosion plans, pond management and land preservation. What do you like most about your job: Working outside. Most frequently asked question: How do I stop the water from coming on to my property? Favorite spot in Warren County: Anyplace I can’t see or hear a road. What are you doing when you are not at work? Background information: I graduated from Wilmington College and received a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy in 2018. I have always had a passion for nature and I have explored Warren County Parks multiple times. I spent many of my younger years here in Lebanon and Morrow. What is a District Technician? I assist Warren County residents by providing technologically sound solutions to agricultural, storm water, and other natural resource management issues and enforce the County soil and sediment control regulations. What do you like most about your job: Helping people solve their problems. Most frequently asked question: How do I stop the water from coming on to my property? Background Information: I am a life-long resident of Warren County and was previously an intern for the district for three years. I graduated from Denison University with degrees in Communication and Environmental Studies. I was also a four-year member of the Varsity Softball team. What do you like most about your job? To be able to work outside and assist residents and stakeholders with their natural resource concerns. What is a District Technician? I assist and provide solutions for Warren County residents and stakeholders with their natural resource and watershed concerns and also help implement the Warren County Erosion & Sediment Control Program. Favorite Spot in Warren County: I enjoy spending my time at my family's cabin, in our woods or around our pond. What are you doing when you are not at work? Background information: I am a graduate of The Ohio State University and West Virginia University where I received degrees in agriculture communications and education. I am excited to be able to work in Warren County and give back to my community by helping to preserve what I grew up loving, our natural resources! Previously, I worked for Ohio State University Extension as an Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator for Butler County. My husband and I live with our two boys in Turtle Creek Township. What is a Conservation Program Specialist? I work with storm water conservation plans in Warren County, and assist local farmers with farmland preservation efforts. Sam Ciaramitaro

Background information: I grew up in Centerville just north of Warren County, and spent several summers in college working the food stands at Kings Island. I graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Geological Sciences, and later was the first to receive a degree in Geospatial Technology from Sinclair. Prior to this job I interned with the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. What is a GIS Technician? I assist with and oversee the geospatial elements of various projects for the SWCD, whether it is analyzing data or preparing maps for documentation. What do you like most about your job: Getting to make useful maps of Warren County and the locals within it. Most frequently asked question: So what exactly can you do with GIS anyway? Favorite spot in Warren County: Kings Island. I definitely have a greater appreciation for it and its history after working there! What are you doing when you are not at work? I like to watch movies, play video games and read books. I am also working on my own writing, which I hope to have published some day. Beth Wilson

Background Information: I grew up on a farm north of Dayton, OH where I was always playing in and exploring in our creek. I attended Wittenberg University where I obtained my Bachelors degree in Environmental Science. I have previously worked in stormwater programs in Springfield, OH; Ohio EPA; Bozeman, MT; and Nashville, TN. What do you like most about your job? Getting to work with various types of people to help protect our local water resources. What is an Urban Technician?: I oversee and manage the County erosion and sediment control program, and assist with other stormwater permit requirements for the County. Favorite spot in Warren County: Anywhere I can kayak with my dog. What are you doing when you are not at work? I’m either playing and/or watching a rugby game, planning my next travel adventure, or cuddled up with my dog Franklin. Melissa Proffitt

Background information: Born and raised in southwest Ohio, I spent my youth exploring and hiking outdoors, participating in Warren County 4-H, acting in local theatre, and playing in the dirt! I received my BA in zoology and MA in biology from Miami University. Prior to joining the District in January of 2017, I was a zookeeper and wildlife educator for almost a decade. What is an Education & Communications Specialist? As an Education & Communications Specialist, I present and develop hands on science programs that bring soil, geology, wildlife games and more directly to your classroom or event. Our programs are aligned with the Ohio Department of Education Science Standards and are designed to foster the love and appreciation of our natural resources in people of all ages. I also conduct educator workshops as a facilitator for Ohio Project WILD, Aquatic WILD, and Growing Up WILD, as well as Curious KIDSS. For outreach initiatives, I use multiple print, electronic, and social media platforms to maximize impact to a diverse Warren County audience. What do you like most about your job: Sharing my passion and knowledge of the natural world and its processes! Most frequently asked question: How can I schedule an education program? What are you doing when you are not at work? I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my dogs, and being outside. Though some evenings find me curled up with a good book or attending a new local stage production as well. Education Assistant E-mail Suzanne Contact me if: You would like to schedule an outreach program! Background information: : I grew up on Treasure Island Florida. I love the beach life, waterskiing, sailing and scuba diving. My first major was Marine Biology, but I ended up graduating with a teaching degree. I moved up north after graduating and taught first and second grade in Covington KY. After having two girls I started teaching environmental curriculum in Warren County. What do you like most about your job: I am a teacher! I love to teach! Most frequently asked question: How do you vermicompost? What are you doing when you are not at work? I’m an OCVN (Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist) so I love the outdoors. Hiking with my dogs is my favorite thing! I’m a beekeeper so I love the bees and pollinators. I like to make sure my garden has lots of food for the bees in all seasons. I love dog sports and breed and show cardigan welsh corgis. I teach dog obedience at the Dayton Dog Training Club.
