Cover crops are fundamental, sustainable tools used to manage soil erosion, nutrient runoff, soil fertility and quality, enhance water availability, and smother weeds in agri-ecosystems. They also benefit water quality for all residents throughout the region. Cover crops also have been shown to increase crop yields, break through compacted soil layers, add organic matter to the soil and improve crop diversity on farms and attract pollinators. |
