Warren Co SWCD, in partnership with Warren County Engineer's Office, inspects stormwater control basins throughout the County on a yearly basis. These stormwater control features are part of an important system made up of roads with drainage systems, municipal streets, catch basins, curbs, gutters, ditches, man-made channels, and storm drains that work in conjunction to manage and convey the stormwater of the County.
Warren Co SWCD field inspects these basins for functionality during the warmer months. You might see some of us out and about in our brightly colored shirts! After inspections, we check with plans and consult the engineer's office if we feel the basin might have some deficiencies or need some work. We then send a letter to the owner of the property where the basin resides. These letters include maintenance items or repairs that might be needed to restore full functionality.
Warren Co SWCD can then be consulted to provide technical assistance to landowners who need to implement maintenance and repairs.
