Description

Seed Packet covers 250 square feet

A Rain Garden is an attractive, landscaped area that doesn't mind getting "wet feet". This seed mix is composed of species that are adapted to seasonal moisture changes ranging from "soaked" to "high and dry". Once established, they will easily tolerate the extreme moisture levels and filter storm water runoff. As a bonus, they are beautiful and attract wildlife such as butterflies and hummingbirds. Read through our Rain Garden Manual for Homeowners to help you get started.

Some things to remember:

Rain Gardens are a mix of native grasses and wildflowers that can take up to three growing seasons to fully establish. You will see germination the first growing season, but the plants will need some time to fully mature.

Carex species are cool! These shorter growing grass like species are typically found in wetland and add interest to your Rain Garden

Hummingbirds will love the tubular flowers of Cardinal Flower and Great Lobelia.
