Waterways to High Tunnels! - Meghan Moser, USDA-NRCS District Conservationist NRCS offers financial and technical assistance through conservation practices to help agricultural producers make and maintain improvements on their land. The 2018 Farm Bill offers programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) – these programs provide funds for producers to implement necessary conservation on their land. Producers from all types of agricultural backgrounds – forest, crop, and livestock - look to NRCS for assistance on their operations. During this program NRCS representatives will discuss the EQIP and CSP programs as well as management strategies and cost share opportunities. |

Blanchard River Demonstration Farms Network - Aaron Heilers, Project Manager for Blanchard River Demonstration Farms Network The Blanchard River Demonstration Farms Network is a partnership between the Ohio Farm Bureau and USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service. The Demonstration Farms showcase leading edge conservation practices that will positively impact water quality without negatively affecting the farmer's economic bottom line. Edge of field monitoring equipment is also used to capture scientific data from the farms so we can accurately gauge the impact conservation practices have on nutrient loss. You will learn about how each of our farmer's operate, how specific conservation practices impact nutrient runoff and what we are learning about agriculture's impact on water quality. |
