What does the future hold for Warren County SWCD? Well as an independent political subdivision of state government organized along county boundaries providing technical assistance to urban and rural land users, SWCDs are Ohio’s trusted source to improve the natural resources of our great state – particularly the water quality. An elected board of local citizens provides SWCD leadership through three-year terms. The supervisors are responsible for developing both the Annual Plan of Work and the Long-Range Plan. They also provide the general oversight of operations and budget. Warren County SWCD currently employs 8 staff members who work hard every day to address the natural resource concerns in Warren County.
Warren County SWCD has 4 goals derived from our mission statement: 1. Protect the Soil Resource Base 2. Protect Water Quality 3. Advance Conservation Education 4. Conduct Administration Conscientiously |
:As we work on planning our conservation strategies over the next several years, we need support and feedback from our residents and partners. We are looking in our urban programs, agricultural initiatives, education outreaches for every single opportunity to improve the natural resources of Warren County. We are dreaming up new partnerships and seeking out collaborative opportunities to work together with all the professionals in our field to achieve success. We are investigating all the lakes, streams, rivers, agricultural land for improvement projects where we can make a positive impact on our natural resources. So, where is Warren SWCD going…onward and upward with excitement, focused minds and working partners to protect the natural resources of Warren County!
